BEN: I was listening to one of the more recent Cyber AB town halls and they mentioned that business owners need to pay special attention to Media Protection. What does that mean?
DAN: Well, media is…think of it as storing our important data. That’s really what it comes down to, in whatever form it is in. And this can be on the I.T. side, can be on the on the storage devices. The nine controls we look at involve everything from, is it encrypted? When it gets transported, whether it be over the ethernet cable, is it encrypted? If it’s transported in a CD, is it encrypted and how am I treating that CD? When we destroy it, how do we destroy it? Can I walk through the environment, can I go dumpster diving and find CAD drives? Can I find information about the contract? It’s everything to do with the important data and the storage, the re-use and the encryption, and the destroying of it at the very end.
BEN: Right. Perfect.
